Hijama — Wet Cupping Therapy
Hijama
Wet Cupping Therapy
Hijama (wet cupping) is a time-honoured Islamic and traditional medicine practice for detoxification, pain relief, immune support and general wellness. Performed by certified therapists in a clean, medically supervised environment at Skin Bliss.

What is Hijama?
The Ancient Healing Art — Medically Supervised
Hijama (حجامة) is wet cupping therapy — a traditional Islamic medicine practice mentioned in the Hadith and used for over 5,000 years across multiple civilisations. Small cups are applied to the skin to create suction, drawing blood to the surface. Small, shallow incisions are then made and the cups reapplied to draw out stagnant or "bad" blood, toxins and metabolic waste from the body.
At Skin Bliss, Hijama is performed by trained and certified Hijama therapists in a fully sterile environment. All cups, blades and equipment are single-use and disposed of after each session. The procedure is conducted in accordance with Sunnah guidelines on timing and points.

FAQs
Hijama — Your Questions
Hijama is generally well-tolerated. The suction phase causes a mild pulling sensation. The shallow incisions used in wet cupping are very superficial — most patients describe minimal discomfort, comparable to a small scratch. Topical numbing can be applied on request.
For general wellness and Sunnah practice, Hijama is recommended 2–4 times per year, ideally on the recommended lunar calendar days (17th, 19th, 21st). For specific health conditions such as chronic pain, migraines or blood pressure management, monthly sessions may be recommended by our therapist.
Hijama is contraindicated for pregnant women, patients on blood thinners (warfarin, aspirin at therapeutic doses), those with haemophilia or bleeding disorders, active skin infections at the treatment site, or those who have received a blood transfusion in the last 3 months. Our therapist will conduct a full health screening before your session.
